The biggest desert on the globe is the Sahara. It includes an area as big as the United State. Huge waves of sand known as dunes cover most of the Sahara. The Sahara is very hot during the day, but it cools off at night because sand does not hold warm well. Deserts are areas that get very little rain fall. The Sahara, in North Africa is the biggest desert on the globe.

The Gobi Desert

The Gobi Desert in Asia is the biggest cold desert. The Gobi covers parts of Mongolia and China. The Gobi gets very cold during the cold months season (winter), but it can be hot during summer season.
